Note: All workshops are available with the SCHOLAR Weekend Pass and VIP Weekend Pass during Early Bird registration period.

After Early Bird registration closes, workshop registrations will be available 'a la carte' for you to choose from during Late registration (if seats are available).

TITLE:                 GOLDEN Products demo + 'Stay and Play!'
DESCRIPTION:       Sandie will demonstrate GOLDEN products. After her demo, 
                           Sandie will lead playtime with GOLDEN products.
                           Complimentary free GOLDEN products will be provided. 
COST:                  Free for Demo - ticket required.
                           $10 for 'Stay and Play' - ticket required. (Cost included
                           with VIP Weekend Pass and SCHOLAR Weekend Pass).

                           1pm - 5pm 
DURATION:           6 hours
INSTRUCTOR:       Rosie Huart 
TITLE:                 ‘Shabby Chic’ Art Journal and Your Written Word
DESCRIPTION:          In this intensive 6-hour workshop, taught by Rosie Huart,                                      you will explore the dynamics of gestural calligraphy
                            writing and playing with letters of the alphabet - using
                                     your own handwriting. These energetic marks will be
                                     used to create symbols to integrate into your personal
                                     art journal.  Found objects, such as twigs, nibs,
                                     cardboard, seashells, pods and other tools will be used
                                  in spirited markings.  
                            You will also make a ‘Shabby Chic’ Art Journal out of
                            canvas, fabric, ribbon, decorative and handmade paper
                            and other ephemera, using molding paste, gesso,
                            acrylic paints and collage. Rosie will show you how 
                            to incorporate creative  writing and poetry into your
                            finished journal. After this workshop, you can use your
                            journal as a wedding guest book, meditation book,
                            art journal - or whatever you want! This is a fun and
                            creative project where you cannot make a mistake.
COST:                  $175 (after Early Bird registration closes - or included

SUPPLIES TO BRING: 
                         Basic mixed media supplies kit + unorthodox tools
                           (twigs, seashells, nail heads, pods, ferns, gauze,
                           heavy thread, nibs, cardboard, and other found
                           tools, etc.), fabric stash (your own fabric scraps,
                           lace, threads, etc.), 3 yd. roll of grosgrain ribbon
                           1/2" wide to compliment colors of shabby chic journal,
                           sentiments (copies of your favorite poems, phrases,
                           quotes, sayings, etc.), waxed paper.
SUPPLIES PROVIDED: 
                           Canvas, molding paste, sum-e ink,
                           some of Rosie's personal embellishments.

DURATION:             5.5 hours
INSTRUCTOR:          Laura Wasilowski
TITLE:                    Tiny Homes
DESCRIPTION:         Create a little house quilt - and receive a degree in
                              Architecture from the Chicago School of Fusing at the
                              same time! Explore the many techniques of fusing:

                              free cutting, layering, collage building,
                              improvisational design, and more.
                              The result is a whimsical neighborhood placed
                              in a colorful landscape setting and made from a kit of
                              pre-fused beautifully hand-dyed fabrics.
                              (No sewing machine is needed.)
